The Day I met myself
Sunlit laundry mat full of light
hustle, bustle of cars, full flight
White champagne torpedo pushing the street
Glow so drawing, sit up, get up, move your feet
Say kid, is that you, is that me?
Mirrored reflection, could it be?
Two worlds exchanging views midday
a whisper travels by, what’d it say?
You can be, you can have, can’t you see?
It isn’t him, nor her nor they but me.
Emerge, grow, dream and believe
Accept with action, move forward, receive.
Sustain no longer, get by no more
Manifest instead, possibility in every pore
Bask in the heat of the light and never get burned
stomach and mind, hungry, eager and starting to yearn
so long, so sad, a life put on a shelf
i still recall the day, i met myself
